2011 - Shane Walsh

Shane Walsh has been involved with the PFIAA for a long time and was keenly interested in a number of landmark projects including numerous reviews of the industry Code of Practice.

The current PFIAA structure includes representation to a number of external stakeholders such as Australian Companion Animal Council , DAFF-AQIS Biologicals Consultative Group and Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority group.

In the past, when the Industry had less numbers and even less active support for the Industry, Shane Walsh was in all these groups - or at least was involved singularly - supporting the Industry.

Additionally Shane was involved as Technical Committee Chair and with imports now represented as the PFIAA Importers Technical Committee.

Shane is planning his retirement from the petfood industry in early 2012. The presentation of the 2011 Wayne Purvis Industry Award is a small token of the industries indebtedness to a fitting and well deserved recipient.

The Award was presented by former award holder Paul Beattie and President Roger Bektash.
