2014 - Karl Nealon

Karl is the inaugural winner of the Phil Jackson Award, now offered bi-annually to recognise Technical Excellence in the petfood industry alongside the industry Wayne Purvis Award.

Karl has a long history with Nestle, Supercoat and presently Nestle Purina at their Blayney, NSW plant. Indeed Karl as Technical Manager for Supercoat was instrumental in developing this product, today one of the leading brands. He was Chair of the Technical Committee for a number of years before re-locating to NZ. He has now returned to Australia and heads up the new manufacturing  wet petfood plant for Nestle Purina at Blayney. Karl commented in receiving this award noted his long association with Phil Jackson and his appreciation of Phil's mentoring over many years.
