PFIAA Code of Practice- Revised!

A major revision and update of the Industry Code of Practice has been completed by PFIAA. The full text is available for download by clicking on the icon on this page.

The Pet Food Industry Association of Australia was established in September 1972 to promote standards of excellence in the pet food industry in Australia.

The objectives of the Association are to:

• promote prepared pet food as the preferred method of providing the nutritional needs of pets;
  
• establish standards for self-regulation of the industry; and
  
• actively promote the benefits of responsible pet ownership.

The PFIAA Code of Practice is designed to promote those objectives within the industry, with the aim of protecting the interests of consumers and the public, and to enhance goodwill towards the industry. This is achieved through recommendations to members on the usage of raw materials, methods of manufacture and marketing practice.

From its inception the Pet Food Industry Association of Australia, Code of Practice has been based upon best practice and the adoption of the responsible corporate standards relating to labelling, marketing and nutritional design and claims.
