The Pet Food Industry Association of Australia has an objective to promote best practice and the adoption of the responsible corporate standards relating to labelling, marketing and nutritional design and claims of petfood.

To this end the Association has developed its Code of Practice designed to promote those objectives within the industry, with the aim of protecting the interests of consumers and the public and to enhance goodwill towards the industry.

The PFIAA Code has been used as the basis for development of the new Australian Standard AS 5812 which is now available form the publisher SAI Global.
